An outstanding example of Swamp Blues from Excello Records. "Slim Harpo plays the guitar the way it should be played, sings in a very unusual bluesy voice, and plays the wildest harmonica in the business. Many of today's top named rock groups are constantly confessing that their styles, concepts, and performances have been greatly influenced by this fantastic artist."
Slim Harpo is perhaps the most famous artist to record for Excello and to spring from Louisiana. This unquestioned master of Swamp Blues must have been one of my husband's heroes because around three decades ago, three copies of Tip On In were purchased. Of the three, this one was played only once!
the tracks: TIP ON IN, TE-NI-NEE-NI-NU, MAILBOX BLUES, I'VE BEEN A GOOD THING FOR YOU, HEY LITTLE LEE, I'M GONNA KEEP WHAT I'VE GOT, I'VE GOT TO BE WITH YOU TONIGHT, I'M SO SORRY, MY BABY SHE'S GOT IT, I JUST CAN'T LEAVE
The LP is in near mint condition.
The cover is in excellent condition
EXCEPT FOR THE CUT OUT HOLE.
** if you are a Blues collector, you will find we are putting hundreds of vintage blues LPs up for auction over the coming year. My husband is grudgingly downsizing his massive collection which he has acquired over the past 40 years and you should find these listings worth considering. Because he was the only owner of these LPs and he had too many to listen to, they were played very, very little and are all in excellent condition. Mark this site as a 'favorite seller' or email if you have any special requests. He has them all!
If you have any questions please email me and thanks for looking! Good Luck!
