The organ featured on this record was installed origin-
ally in the Majestic Cinema, Reigate, Surrey, the
opening date 14th October 1935, the organist
Riginald New. Other organists who played this
instrument at Reigate were Thomas Grosch, Basil
Cuthbert, George Senior and Douglas Sharp
In 1973 the organ was removed to its present home
at the Reliance Garage, Kings Lynn, where it was
played for the first time on 19th December 1973
by Geoff Stephenson. Its first public airing was by
Douglas Sharp 14 days later.
This 3c 7 Christie organ was built in 1935 at the
Norwich works of Messrs. Hill Norman and Beard
and so it is good to know that with the help of
its present owner Mr. A.E. Ransom, it has returned
to the county of its birth.
