The item available here is an original RARE ENGLISH LANGUAGE VERSION UK PRESSED 7" PROMOTIONAL VINYL SINGLE  of the 1977 Eurovision uptempo disco entry representing Italy from MIA MARTINI and "FREEDOM IS TODAY" (sung in English).  The other side features the original Italian language version, "LIBERA" just as it was performed on the Eurovision stage.  Like most other Eurovision non-winners, very few shops in the UK bothered to stock this release and it never sold very well in the UK and the few copies that made it to the shops sold out very quickly. This very rare UK promotional 7" single was issued by CBS records  (CBS 5178) and was never originally issued in the UK with a picture sleeve but for my own collection I produced a top quality glossy card picture sleeve with the correct UK record label logo and catalogue number also added!  This is not a typical basic photocopy sleeve, it is a unique professional looking one-off picture sleeve issued especially for this rare copy of the UK single I have on auction.  Remember, it was never issued with a picture sleeve in the UK back in 1977 so this picture sleeve is the first UK edition and you're not going to find another one of these anywhere else!   This is a wonderful opportunity to add a collectable rare UK pressing 7" Eurovision single with a unique top quality picture sleeve to your record collection.  The vinyl is still in clean and shiny VERY GOOD+ to EX condition with only minimal signs of previous use!  The exact items I have on auction can be seen on the camera photos both above and below.  This is the ONLY copy of the 1977 Italian entry I have among my stocks so don't miss your chance to bid !

Back in the eighties and nineties I was quite well known among many Eurovision collectors around the world as I always stocked a large selection of Eurovision records and CD's and during the nineties even arranged and financed the official release to press some of the more rare entries for wider availability to collectors.  I provided a Discography and photos of all Eurovision releases in the UK for RECORD COLLECTOR magazine and provided recordings and worked to get clearance for tracks on an official UK Eurovision CD release issued by VIRGIN.  Due to moving house my Eurovision vinyl has been in safe storage for almost a decade.  I have recently acquired back the very last copies of my Eurovision vinyl stocks.  In many cases I am down to my very last copy of each entry, especially those in mint condition and I now plan to sell everything over the upcoming months, so keep checking back each week for new additions to my listings.
