Description

Rare 65' UK Columbia Mono(33SX 1745) original; The Downliners Sect-The Country Sect.Record in really nice, clean Excellent-/Plays Excellent+ condition.Just a few slight and fairly feint storage surface marks(from many years  pressed in the lined 'Emitex' paper inner sleeve)on Side 1 completely unaffecting play.Otherwise vinyl both sides is virtually unmarked with no surface noise to speak of at all.A fine and lovely copy.Cover does have some signs of use and age-one very small dent and some slight creasing/thumbing on front cover, also name written near bottom of front cover, mild rubbing, rounding of corner edges etc.Back cover has two pen marks and some ticking and crossing of tracks in pencil(this can probably be rubbed out)Overall cover is Very Good++;still in pretty good shape.

Unusual LP from the 60's UK R&B/Beat cult heroes;actually Skiffle more than Country(not that many in the UK had much idea what real Country was in the 60's) there are no fiddles or pedal steel guitars(who had one or could play one here in 65'?'!) and the prominent washboard and material like Midnight Special adds to the Skiffle flavour. There's also a straight Blues. The only true Country here, other than the Hank Williams gospel number 'Wait For The Light To Shine' really is the Wynn Stewart/Buck Owens classic 'Above And Beyond' which the boys do quite well. Scan to follow..
