Description
This album is a collector's item because of the incredibly high quality of the music played by Blakey, Wayne Shorter, Bobby Timmons, and Jymie Merritt. Includes great songs like "Round About Midnight," and "The Things I Love." What a year, 1962! The high point of hard bop with Coltrane and Miles Davis arguably nearing perfection and for that matter a whole range of stars flying high - Sonny Stitt, Roland Kirk, the list goes on and on. And then the curtain came down on bop pretty quickly. It's really great to savor that great music again--and this album is a big landmark of that time.
If you can find a equivalent-quality copy of this rare 1st pressing of a great LP for less money, then please make an offer on this one. There are a few light scuffs on the vinyl, otherwise it would be NM.
The front cover is VG+ tight and nice-looking with just a few light blemishes, two small corner bumps and the high parts of the textured plastic coating a little less glossy.
The back has some stains along the edges--VG-. Please study the photos carefully if you are interested. The dust sleeve is original and VG with a thin plastic inner liner added some time ago, and short clean splits on the bottom (once taped) and side--both repairable.
SHIPPING: All of our LPs are bubble-wrapped and mailed in heavy LP boxes with the vinyl in a protective plastic-lined sleeve placed outside the jacket.
