Description
The former Hawkwind frontman, lyricist and live show director, here in a 1986 recording – released three years later – of a concert at London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall.
Calvert is backed by multi-instrumentalists Krankshaft (Steve Pond, Ded Fred and Mary Cason), and delivers a selection of his spacey prog-rock classics such as “Catch a Falling Starfighter” from his concept album “Captain Lockheed and the Starfighters” and the title track from “Test Tube Conceived”.
This album had a limited vinyl release on the Clear label, and this copy is in mint condition, with gatefold cover in excellent condition and as-new free poster which has stayed folded and unused for 28 years.
Calvert died aged only 43 of a heart attack, and he was an eccentric, creative and significant figure in England’s 60s-70s counterculture. This is a rare chance to catch a collectible slice of his work.
