Description
This is the rare Van Gelder-stamped mono pressing of Horace Silver “Serenade to a Soul Sister” on the Liberty labels of Blue Note BLP 4277. The playing surface is in near-new condition, with a high luster; perhaps played once. Similarly, the gatefold cover is in exceptional condition - bright and clean throughout – with just very light rubbing along the top seams and a small ding at the lower right corner. At the top left corner of the front is the “MONO LP – Audition Not For Sale” sticker, affixed to covers intended for radio stations that had not yet converted to stereo transmission. These mono issues were never sold to the public. Illustrated inner sleeve is included. Personnel include Charles Tolliver, Stanley Turrentine, Bob Cranshaw, and Billy Cobham. WE NOW ACCEPT PAYPAL.
