Description
Colin Hare's music almost defies categorisation. The former Honeybus man created some delicate, folky,pastoral, psychy, baroque (choose your own definition of the indefinable!) almost acid-folk works of, to some, near genius, which teeter on being twee, but slip into the fragile beauty category instead. It is also very difficult to find these days...... Here is an A side, 'Grannie, Grannie' which teases with innocent lyrics which invite all kinds of meaning. A deceptively simple backing lures you into the fascinating world of Hare, of which there is more on the B side in the shape of another wonderfully involving track, 'For Where Have You Been'. Few managed to work this style successfully, but Hare is the exception, etc...... This is a promo single on the Penny Farthing (PEN 736) label which is mostly VG+ but has one or two superficial scuffs and marks which do not seem to adversely affect the audio quality. The sleeve is a fine vg+ example of the collectable original orange sleeves which housed these early 70s gems.
