 I am listing records that are all hopefully interesting to audiophiles and lovers of classical music, I could not find a few online so some may be rare. I have done my best to describe them and have spent the last three days preparing the auctions. I have not cleaned any of them so they may need a gentle dust off before playing. I have examined each wearing gloves and under bright light - when I had to I would play and listen to either a whole album or parts with a clean needle. I have included many images of each lot but if you have any questions or requests please just let me know. I will do what I can on my end to answer any questions. I can combine to some extent with shipping but I will want to pack them well. I understand that with records condition is everything so I will do everything I can to assure that they arrive as they are now. I will be able to send them out three to four days after the auctions end. If I can I will send them sooner but most likely it will be 4 days after. They will be sent with tracking and insurance and well packed. Thank you and good luck bidding!

This auction is for two records that belong togther - they are original French radio transcriptions for North America and would have two programs on two records - this way the engineer could cue up program without having to turn the record over. I will be listing about 120 separate lots of these programs which are all from the French Broadcasting System In North America. They are all to some degree related to classical music with some programs containing avant-garde and experimental music. I believe these records were from programs dating from 1969 to 1972. I have about 250 records I will be listing beginning tonight and ending in early December so if any of the record auctions are of interest please check back. These records were made in pairs so there would be two programs on two records. That way the radio station engineer could cue up the programs second half without having to interrupt the show by turning the record over. Many of these recordings are rare and obscure and I believe very few were pressed and even fewer surviving. I could find no reference online to many of them and I have just begun to go through them. Many performances were recording using various conductors and soloists at the Paris L'O.R.T.F. (The Office de Radiodiffusion-Télévision Française (ORTF) was the national agency charged, between 1964 and 1974, with providing public radio and television in France.) These records would be sent to participating radio stations with a paper transcript. Unfortunately I do not have these transcripts so I have had to carefully listen to the introductions to discern what the performances are - as well as referring to the labels. Each program has a short English language introduction before the piece is played - each side of each record is 13 to 15+ minutes in length. The records are in their original simple white sleeve - they were not issued with traditional covers. For the most part the records are sharp and clean with very light signs of handling or wear. I cannot clean records so they may have light dust etc.. - you may have to gently wipe them off or clean them as you see fit. I visually inspect them carefully - and have , when needed listened to them using a clean needle. I believe they are in Very Good plus or better condition and when there is a condition or sound issue I try to include that in the description. So please ask questions. I would like to have fun listing these because they are so rare but it will also be quite time consuming so I am unsure how long it will take to list all of them. Sergei Sergeyevich Prokofiev (23 April 1891 – 5 March 1953) was a Russian composer, pianist and conductor who mastered numerous musical genres and is regarded as one of the major composers of the 20th century. His best-known works are the five piano concertos, nine completed piano sonatas and seven symphonies. Besides many other works, Prokofiev also composed family favourites, such as the March from The Love for Three Oranges, the suite Lieutenant Kijé, the ballet Romeo and Juliet – from which "Dance of the Knights" is taken – and Peter and the Wolf.
 
A graduate of the St Petersburg Conservatory, Prokofiev initially made his name as an iconoclastic composer-pianist, achieving notoriety with a series of ferociously dissonant and virtuosic works for his instrument and his first two piano concertos. Prokofiev's first major success breaking out of the composer-pianist mould was with his purely orchestral Scythian Suite, compiled from music originally composed for a ballet commissioned by Sergei Diaghilev of the Ballets Russes; Diaghilev commissioned three further ballets from Prokofiev – Chout, Le pas d'acier and The Prodigal Son – which at the time of their original production were all highly successful. Prokofiev's greatest interest, however, was opera, and he composed several works in that genre, including The Gambler and The Fiery Angel. Prokofiev's one relative success in that genre during his lifetime was The Love for Three Oranges, composed for Chicago and subsequently performed over the
 following decade in Europe and Russia.
 
After the Revolution, Prokofiev left Russia with the official blessing of the Soviet minister Anatoly Lunacharsky, and he lived in the United States, then Germany, then Paris, during which time he married a Spanish singer, Carolina Codina, with whom he had two sons. Because of the increasing economic deprivation of Europe, Prokofiev returned to Russia in 1936. He enjoyed some success there – notably with Lieutenant Kijé, Peter and the Wolf, Romeo and Juliet, and perhaps above all with Alexander Nevsky. The Nazi invasion of the USSR spurred him to compose his most ambitious work, an operatic version of Leo Tolstoy's War and Peace. In 1948 Prokofiev was criticized for "anti-democratic formalism", and with his income severely curtailed was forced to compose Stalinist works such as On Guard for Peace. However, he also enjoyed personal and artistic support from a new generation of Russian performers, notably Sviatoslav Richter and Mstislav Rostropovich and
 for the latter he composed his Symphony-Concerto.

About soloist - Silvia Marcovici (born January 30, 1952) is a Romanian classical violinist.
 
Born in Bac?u, Romania, she studied at the Conservatory in Bucharest. Her international debut was at the age of sixteen when she performed in The Hague under Bruno Maderna. In 1969, she won the second grand prize in the Marguerite Long-Jacques Thibaud Competition in Paris (nobody won the first one) as well as the special prize of Rainier III, Prince of Monaco. In 1970, she was the winner of the first prize in the George Enescu Competition in Bucharest. In 1972, she was invited by Leopold Stokowski to play the Glazunov Violin Concerto with the London Symphony Orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall, recorded by Decca.
 
Her discography includes Debussy, Franck, Fauré sonatas for Aurophon-Classics, the Sibelius Violin Concerto with Neeme Järvi and the Gothenburg Symphony for BIS. Also, the Tchaikovsky, Brahms, Beethoven, Saint-Saëns and Bruch 1st violin concertos and the Lalo Symphonie Espagnole with various orchestras, collected on a set of Doremi CDs.
 
She performs frequently in South and North America, Japan, Middle East and all over Europe. A refined musician with a fascinating stage presence, Silvia Marcovici exhibits robust and productive activity in chamber music. She appears often in recitals with famous pianists, and recently also with her son Aimo Pagin, himself a pianist.
 
She lives in Graz (Austria) where she is a professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts.
