Description
After collecting for over 50 years...Its time to starting clearing out a number of my recordings. Most of these will be in the 1898 to 1910 period with a few exceptions going up into the 1930s. I've enjoyed these recordings and I hope you will too. These records will be shipped in a new box wrapped with cardboard and bubble wrap to protect them. Tracking info will be provided.......
This is quite a rare recording in 10 inch form. It is from John Phillip Sousa's comic opera, "The Bride Elect"
Here is sung a trio from the opera entitled "Unchain the dogs of war". This was recorded on 11/5/01, and has the first label of the newly formed Victor Talking Machine Co. Only 495 pressings of this record were made. I have not found another.. On the vocal there is Harry Macdonough and William Hooley. There is a soprano, but not sure who??
NOTE .This record is very forward and would fall under very good plus if not for some water damage that causes a swish in the recording. Therefore I list it as good, but with a swish. But swish or not ..it is rare.
