Description
This is Ghettoville/Before 2001, by Rufus Wood, (Espanola 3602, a Houston label.) This is the original pressing, which has the dark blue script, on the label. It has been listed as one of the Rarest of the Rare, in several publications. and is included in Manship's book, "Million Dollars of Rare Soul." The later pressing has black script on the label and credits A. Valier as the composer of 'Before 2001", instead of A. Collins. A. Valier was actually one of the producers. I owned a record store, which specialized in Oldies, Hard- to-Find, and Collectible records, in 1970s and 1980s. I purchased lots of collections during that time, from DJs, collectors, and record label reps.This record is part of the inventory which I retained, when I sold the store, in 1987. The recordings you hear are from this disk loaded from turntable to soundcard. No filters were used. The record is Near Mint Minus, because of small white spots, and an X on the label. Just listen to the sound clip, to hear the quality. The volume control button, on the mp3 player, is just to the right of the time window.
