Description
You are bidding on the used LP pictured here, Duo Exchange, by Rashied Ali and Frank Lowe, on Ali's own the Survival label, as issued in 1975. I purchased this LP new in 1977.
This is Rashied Ali's first record on his own label, which introduced many to Frank Lowe for the first time. Their duets (one performance, spanning both sides of the LP) continues what Ali and John Coltrane started with "Interstellar Space" seven years earlier. Frank Lowe was starting to transform his playing from that of an "energy player" into that of a listener/storyteller, although there are plenty of his trademark shrieks here. He is not merely a Coltrane copycat or freak-out saxophonist, although he obviously respects those backgrounds, coming from Memphis before playing with Sun Ra and Alice Coltrane previously. This is a memorable milestone of 1970s "free jazz".

Condition: I have accumulated hundreds of LPs, but don't buy or sell them according to condition or any price guide, and am not experienced in grading used LPs. However, for the sake of those who do, I'll disclose every possible distraction I know of. I also listen to each record before I sell it on eBay.
Cover: Only traces of ring wear. No seam splitting or cutouts, although worn on all edges. Wear on all corners. I wrote my name on the back.
Shipping: Please add $4.00 for shipping and handling anywhere in the U.S. Winners of multiple LPs from my auctions in a seven day period can have additional albums shipped in the same package for 50 cents each. Postal insurance within the U.S. is optional and additional at USPS rates. However, I insist on postal insurance for orders over $50. Airmail shipping to Canada is $5.00 + $1.00 for additional LPs, Europe: $11 + $2 Asia $14 + $2 without insurance.
