Description

Raul Gomez- Instrumental - Areito LD-3576. Funk/Disco monster from Cuba. Imagine Barry White with fuzz guitar!! Probably the best produced record of it's type from Cuba. This easily would have been huge had it originally seen the light of day in North America.

Very nice copy with shiny labels. Some ring wear/creases. two clean labels, light marks - nothing deep. VG(+)/EX(-).

"Singer, composer, animator, producer, arranger, actor. He was born on December 21, 1941, in Vedado, Havana. He began his career from a very young age acting and singing in the children's show La Pandilla Cabeza de Perro, which was broadcast every Sunday on Cuban television. He then formed the duo with his father named El Rinete Materva and his assistant Salutari, who had daily segments on live television, and participated in multitudinous rodeos. He studied at the Havana Conservatory, going to the Superior School of Art studying orchestra direction, composition, instrument, choral direction, record production. I also study radio and television shows. Play 5 musical instruments. He was one of the pioneers of rock in Spanish founding the group Raúl Gómez and the Astros, of great acceptance of the youth, that the totalitarian government suspended him by interpreting music of what they call the "Yankee empire." He spent a season without work dedicating himself to teaching music, until in 1964 he was called to integrate the vocal quartet Los Bucaneros. Of the same arose its Duo with Mirtha Medina called "Mirtha and Raúl" (from 1968 to 1975). He was one of the animators for 12 years of Cuba's most popular youth TV program in the 1970s and 1980s called "Good Evening" selected the best program for youth and the most audience. He was record producer in Cuba for 15 years. He has won many international awards as a singer, composer and producer."
