Description

These are a very special Classic Records remastered and re-issue of the extraordinary Mercury Living Presence SR90313 of Ravel's Rapsodie Espagnole, Alborada Del Gracioso and Pavane Pour Une Infante Defunte on the Classic Records "45 Series" special two one-sided 180-gram LP pressings.  The excerpts come from this recording(originally done on 35mm magnetic film) made in the auditorium of Cass Technical High School, Detroit, Michigan.  This auditorium was the best recording venue in Detroit;  superior to "Old" Orchestra Hall, Ford Auditorium or Fisher Music Center.  Included is an  at-length review of the music, the exemplary recording Paul Paray conducting the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and how this re-issue was achieved.  This album was purchased new by me and professionally cleaned/treated using a VPI 16.5 record cleaning machine followed by an ultrasonic cleaning using a Degritter and de-magnetized using a Furutech DeMag device.  From my music library.
