Description

Ray Brown & Moonstone

Mad house

Super rare OZ LP released in 1970 on the Silver & Blue Festival Label. Cat: SFL933958. In the late 60's Ray Brown headed of to L.A. to try his luck. After being chewed up by the machine that was L.A. he headed back to Sydney with his mind expanded by the drugs and the countryside. Hooking up with local country/Psyche rock band Moonstone he made this one fantastic psychedelic prog tinged country rock album. The first track"Story of Ali" is apparently the inspiration for the classic Psychedelic sitar headswirlers series!! Trippy psychedelic passages filled with tablas, sitar and lovely west coast flavoured country rock tracks. This is a unique album with nothing quite like it being released at the time in Australia. Beautifully produced album with some great playing by the band..

Tracks : Story of Ali/ Mr. Blue/ King velvet (king of the rodeo)/ Start of a new day/ Oh, Sarah/ Flight of the gulls/ Run Sylvie run/ Call me a drifter/ Passing the time/ Carry me back to L.A./ Danville queen/ Busted.

Record has some light scuff marks, there are soime light crackles throughout mostly noticeable at beginning and end of tracks. Record is in VG++ condition. Cover has very light ring wear and a few light age spots. Cover is in Excellent condition.
