Ray Dickey 10” Demo audition acetate 78 (Ray Dickey is the name on the demo, but it’s a female artist) Red Head Journey Blues b/w Why Can’t We Be Sweeties? Ted’s Recording Studio Demo acetate out of Pasadena California
This demo acetate was found at 4 Star Great previously unissued Country Blues Rockabilly sides that this artist auditioned in anticipation of getting a recording contract, which didn’t seem to happen. 4 Star must have been drunk when they put “No” on both sides of the label, so these recordings didn’t meet their approval. This must have remained the only known copy. Very rare one of a kind priceless recordings which could never have been offered on ebay or any other venue, and can’t be on Youtube or known to exist. This demo is in Mint- condition. This long lost demo must have stood untouched and unplayed in 4 Star studio warehouse for about 70 years.
