Ray Draper Quintet Tuba Sounds Prestige 7096 mono LP. Original Deep groove pressing with yellow fireworks label,  446 W. 50th St., N.Y.C. address, and RVG on the trail-off wax. Flat-edge pressing with no groove guard. Sidemen are Jackie McLean, Webster Young, Mal Waldron, Spanky DeBreast, and Webster Young. Tunes are: House of Davis\Terry Anne\You're My Thrill\Jackie's Dolly\Pivit\Mimi's Interlude.

Condition - Grading is Visual Under Bright Light

Cover is a nice VG+. The front cover graphics are beautiful and vivid. A touch of wear on the corners. The printing on the edge is sharp and clear.  A few small touches of seam wear with some seam cracking on the top middle edge but no splits. The back cover slick shows some light surface wear and toning and several small stains. Purple "JAZZ" stamp on middle right edge and a purple ink blotch on the lower left corner. "Printed and Packaged by GEM Albums, Inc. N.Y." on the bottom right corner.  A pretty example of this cover despite the flaws that faces up nicely.

LP is a glossy VG+ with some light sleeve wear, scuffing, and hairlines, nothing feelable or serious. Labels are beautiful with spindle marks visible under bright angled light on side B, side A is clean.  Includes original rice paper sleeve that has done a good job of protecting the record but has splits so I will ship the record in another sleeve. A solid but not spectacular example of this rare and desirable early Prestige.

Overall not perfect or NM but a solid copy of a rare jazz LP. This copy should make some collector very happy. Check out my other auctions for more rare and interesting records. Winning auctions may be combined to save postage cost. Check out my feedback for results of recent rare record auctions.

Grading

Grading is SS (still sealed), NM, VG+, VG. The myriad of grading systems on Ebay is a good indicator of the subjective nature of grading. In my opinion NM is close to perfect with one or two very minor flaws, VG+ is above average and collectable and VG is average used condition but probably the best choice for playing. I'm a collector and try to describe LPs as accurately as possible, the way I would want them described to me. The pictures should at least give a good indication of the condition of the covers and labels. Please see my seller feedback for comments on my grading. If you don't agree with how I'm calling a record that is your privilege but with all respect please don't bid.

Packaging

LP will be shipped outside of jacket in record bag and boxed for protection using an LP shipping box with cardboard stiffeners.

Terms and Payment

Low starting price and no reserve. Five day auction. Paypal only. Payment must be made within 48 hours of auction close or seven days for other forms of payment unless other arrangements are made before end of auction.

I don't profit from shipping. If an overage occurs I will refund the difference.

US

$4.00 Priority mail with free delivery confirmation in US. Insurance is optional but I cannot be responsible for uninsured shipments.  

International

Shipping methods are  First Class or Priority International. First Class cannot be tracked. Please see shipping calculator for cost.

Refund Policy 

I stand behind what I sell, LP may be returned in original condition for a full refund minus return shipping costs if I am notified within three days of receipt of LP.  No rebates if you keep the LP. I don't end auctions early, there is no Buy It Now price, emails asking for a BIK price will be ignored. Good luck!
