Description
Razar – Stamp Out Disco / Task Force
rare, 1978, Australian punk, yellow label in picture sleeve kbd
This is one of the most popular bands out of Brisbane in the late seventies, and this is their first and definitive release. Two songs of energy and enthusiasm, capturing the spirit of the times.
Side A: Stamp Out Disco - speaks for itself, a song about the inanity of the nightclub scene and poser DJ’s. A song as relevant today as it ever was.
Side B: Task Force (undercover cops) - is about a special squad of police which was formed to combat the menace of punk. Queensland police were notorious for their corruption during the seventies and eighties. Task Force was composed of the worse of the worse, the police who had charges of violence against them, the alcoholic, and those others deemed unsuitable for normal duties. Their job description was to remove the unsightly punks from Brisbane streets, and this often resulted in violent raids on Brisbane venues. A scenario that is, unfortunately, not to uncommon around the world.
This is the first pressing of this legendary single, with the rare, oversize picture sleeve and yellow label. The cover is a little worn and stained, but the vinyl is in excellent condition, and has been in the possession of the original owner since release.
