Description

This is THE best complete Rachmaninov piano concertos, period! You may find other versions marginally better in some aspect of performance or sound, but as a whole, this set is hard to beat and deserves to be in every music lover's collection. Only that it's so rare nowadays! One word of caution: there are mono sets with the same title and listing number. If you see it somewhere else, you MUST ask for a photo of the label! And don't accept general grading of "good shape", as many owners of Reader's Digest sets don't know how to grade collectible records, let alone what "stamper number" means! Trust me, I'm speaking from painful experience! This early set has mostly 1S stampers done at RCA Indianapolis pressing plant.

Record condition: NM-/NM/NM-/NM-/NM/EX+/NM-/NM- (S.6 has a couple superficial pressing marks that produce no noise and plays like NM-!)

Box condition: EX+ (slight creases)

Booklet condition: EX+ (slight corner bend)

Stampers: 1S/1S/1S/6S/1S/2S/1S/1S RCA "I" pressing
