Crazed early 80s psych album that usually sells on eBay for $100+ in recent times.   Comes with a HUGE book of poetry and art.  From my Acid Archives review: One of the best 80s discoveries, this is pretty wild stuff, has a crude garage edge, especially when it gets heavy.  The songwriting is pretty interesting and thoughtful, and as 80s private press LPs go, this is distinctive and memorable enough to explain why psych dealers jumped on its bandwagon.  A lot of the lyrics are pretty stoned.  There is a lot going on here, with enough weird hooks and surprising moments to give any listener a fair amount of kicks.  I like side two, especially the closing “Visions of Obscurity V,” better than side one.  In the long run, whether this will be a keeper for any individual listener will probably be determined by the insane 12-minute “Madman’s Game,” an elaborate epic that encapsulates everything distinctive about this record.  I’m not sure how strongly to recommend this album, but I do recommend it and it’s not boring or predictable. 

Private Press.  Record and cover and book M-.  Still has shrinkwrap. 

Note:  Because the book is so heavy, count this as TWO records for postage purposes.

My grading scale, which I believe is conservative, is below.  For the most part they are visually graded, but those I remember well enough to give a playgrade, I will.

M- This means LP and cover are like new.  In my opinion, if there’s a cut corner or punch hole the LP can still be M-, but I will mention if it is there.  I almost never grade LPs M-.  My EX is most people’s “mint.”

EX.  Cover may have very superficial wear, like a bent corner or a small sticker, but basically looks new.  LP plays like new but may not look perfect—there could be a tiny warp not affecting play, some scuffs that don’t affect play, etc…  Note that some brand new albums have a bit of surface noise because they are not particularly good pressings. 

VG++.  Beautiful copy, acceptable to most collectors who are not mint freaks.  Plays essentially clean but may have a few spots with very minor hiss or crackle.   LP shows no scratches, maybe some scuffing.   The cover may have minor ringwear or dirt, small writing, a small seam split in the middle (not on the edge) or something to that effect.

VG+  Nice copy, plays mostly clean with some noise in the quiet areas or between songs.  May have a few pops but nothing major.  Cover has some dirt or moderate ring wear, maybe some tape on the seams or a small seam split.  LP may have light scratches.

VG.  The LP will play with crackly or fuzzy noise, but should not skip, nor will the noise predominate during the loud parts.  May have quite a few scratches.  Cover may have seam splits, writing, heavy ring wear, etc… but is not trashed.

VG-.  LP is very noisy, lots of pops and crackle.  Cover is ragged. 

Postage:  Postage in the US is $2.50 media mail or $6.00 priority for one or two LPs.   Canada is $7.00 for one LP.  For larger orders I’ll weigh the LPs and send you a quote.  Europe is $12 for the first LP, $3 for each additional.  Asia and Australia are $13.50 for the first, $3 for each additional.   Insurance is only available in the United States.  Overseas LPs can not be insured past the US border and are, as always, sent at the buyer’s risk.  In the US, insurance if requested is $1.30 for $50, $2.20 for $100, and a dollar for each hundred above that.  I mail LPs in poly bags separated from the cover to prevent seam splitting in the mail.  If you do not want them sent that way, please contact me and tell me so.  I always use cardboard Bags Unlimited boxes with cardboard liners, and have never had any record damaged in the mail.
