Rebirth Brass Band - Here To Stay! Arhoolie 1092 ORIGINAL 1984 US 1st PRESS VINYL LP

Matrix Information (A Side: Stamped) :  A ARH 1092 A1  | (B Side: Stamped) : A ARH 1092 B1 The group's debut album, billed as Rebirth Jazz Band New Orleans, recorded live at Grease Lounge, New Orleans on the 3rd and 7th May 1984. Still teenagers, the players show a wild style drawing from many influences. They play fast, with improvisation and tight musicianship throughout. Opening side 2 of the disc in high style is a show-stopper--"Mardi Gras," a mix of "Going to the Mardi Gras", "Snorkel(Tuba) Fats", "Blackbird Special", and a fun coda, "Lil' Liza Jane." The transitions between the different songs in the medley are flawless. The first side includes interpretations of Thelonious Monk's "Blue Monk" and Michael Jackson's "Shake Your Booty".

Vinyl: Excellent. Stunning showing only slight tiny signs of use. The finish is shiny with some light marks where the vinyl has been in and out of the inner sleeve a few times. It plays perfectly and beautifully throughout with absolutely no deterioration in sound (no jumps or pops). The labels are superb, clean and bright without marks. Spindle shows no sign of wear. And the vinyl is not warped.
