Description

Red Garland      Red Garland's Piano       mono    Prestige 7086    Bergenfield label w/ shallow groove and Van Gelder

Red Garland (p), Paul Chambers (b), Art Taylor (d)    Recorded 1956, 1957

Bergenfield label with shallow groove and "Van Gelder" both sides.  No address on back cover.

The record looks VG+ and plays VG. Might play grade VG+ if it were not a fairly quiet piano trio record. Due to pressing, record plays with light "hissing" type surface noise and with moderate ticking and surface noise that is below the level of the music.   Both sides have "paper" scuffs and some heavier scuffs and some small light scratches. Spindle marks on both sides.  Grooves show some wear but are not grey or spread.  Record's been played a bit but it's not wrecked and is enjoyable to listen to.

 The cover is VG-.

The front cover has heavy wear and ring wear with a 4 inch piece of tape visible at the spine.  The back cover has heavy wear with same 4 inch pieces of tape visible on the spine.  Top and bottom seams are not split or taped but heavily worn.  Spine has 4 inch taped split in middle. Spots of denting and heavy wear at the corners.
