This is an opportunity to own a rare 1st NYC pressing of this album at a great price if you do not mind a few defects!
The Red Garland Trio with Paul Chambers & Art Taylor “Red Garland’s Piano” 1957 first pressing DG Prestige Records NYC address label (# PRLP 7086 mono) in a laminate cardboard sleeve. This is an Abbey Manufacturing pressing and Rudy Van Gelder (RVG) recording. The record grading is Good Plus (G+). There are 5 issues with this album - 2 are significant and the other 3 are minor. The most significant is on Side 2/track 2 there’s a scratch ~30 seconds into the song that produces a tick for 1-½ minutes. On Side 1/track 1 there’s a mark about halfway into the song that creates a 45 second light tick. The other 3 I can only attribute to a manufacturing/pressing problem and they are not significant in terms of time … on Side 1/track 4 there’s a “hiss” for only 10 seconds at the absolute end of the song. On Side 2/track 1 there’s a groove defect that produces a hiss at the very beginning for a few seconds then for another 10 seconds. Finally, on Side 2/track 4, again at the absolute end of the song, there’s a groove defect that produces a 10 second hiss & a pop. This is unfortunate because the rest of the album, ~95% of it, plays EX with great fidelity. The following is on the runout grooves:

The outer case is Very Good (VG). The front cover laminate is clean, glossy and vibrant with only a teeny-tiny laminate bubble at the bottom right. The back cover is smooth with age wear along the sides and top. The spine has a small (<1”) abrasion near the top. The top seam has a small <1” split at the opening. The bottom seam has a 2” tight split in the middle & a ½” split at the opening. The cover is sturdy. (all reflected in the photos). All sales final.
NOTE: This album will ship with the inner sleeve & record OUTSIDE of the cover as to prevent any possible seam damage to the cover during shipment. Both the album cover and the inner sleeve & vinyl will be contained within a plastic protective sleeve inside of the shipping box with padding on top & bottom
