Description

Here we have a fine Reggae album! It’s Laurel Aitken on a PAMA LP “The High Priest Of Reggae” PAMA PSP1012.

This is the original pressing which was released in 1970, although some of the tracks were recorded earlier.

The sleeve photo proves without a doubt, that even on the mighty Laurel “Fire” Aitken, open-toe sandals never look cool.

He is pictured on his knees, looking for his contact lens, holding a Shure Unidyne B Model 515 (an excellent mic to use for snare drums, reggae-studio-fact-fans).

On the back of the sleeve he is demonstrating the best way to wreck your guitar neck, by fixing the strap with string to the headstock.

Hank Williams did this too.

 

The disc is nice and clean and only shows a few very light storage marks. One side, around the label, has a slight “haze” on the vinyl, probably caused by a PVC sleeve or (very possibly) a warm plastic turntable at some time in the distant past. IT PLAYS VERY WELL INDEED. It is cut very loud with lots of bass, and surface noise is at a very acceptable very low minimum.

Let’s call it a VG+ or thereabouts.

 

There are two tiny stickers left by “Lin” for you to remove,

 

The sleeve is fairly clean and tidy and has a small crease on the laminated front that is difficult to see and photograph.

A few minutes with an artist’s soft eraser on the back, and the stuff Brian Blessed advertises on the front, and it will be very clean and collectable.

At the moment, let’s call it an HONEST VG or thereabouts.

I am not a dealer.

I am just an old bloke thinning out his lifetime collection of STUFF before the floor collapses.

I'm selling most of this stuff for much less than I paid for it.

I am certainly NOT INTERESTED IN PROFIT..

..and indeed, seldom make any!

I have described the item to the best of my ability, and everything looks in splendid condition to me.
