Description

Reiner-Tchaikovsky "1812 OVERTURE" Classic Records 4LP, Single Sided 45 RPM Clarity Vinyl edition, SEALED! This copy is #8 of only 20 copies pressed. I purchased this copy on eBay in 2017 when the former owners of Classic Records were selling off their remaining stock. There's a reason that for the past 60+ years folks have used this particular recording and performance to show off their Hi-Fi gear...it's absolutely thrilling. Here's your chance to get this very rare Classic Records collectible at a fair market price!
CONDITION: As shown in Pictures 4 and 5, the outer box has significant dents on one side. Picture 4 also captures a crease in the outer box, towards the bottom of the picture, approximately 8 inches long. The all-white box makes it hard to capture with a camera, but I believe my VG+ rating is conservative overall, given the rest of the box is in outstanding condition. AND, I think the starting bid reflects all these factors.
ABOUT 45 RPM PRESSINGS

A lot of audiophile titles get reissued as 45 rpm sets for several reasons, but the most important one is because they almost universally sound better than a 33 1/3 version.

This is not hype. LPs pressed at 45 rpm offer a wider dynamic range, deeper bass, and sweeter top end. While 33 1/3 offers more convenience (more tracks/time per side before you have to flip the LP over), there are significant tradeoffs, including more compression (particularly as the stylus moves closer to the center) and lower frequency extension (you need physical space to cut deep bass wavelengths into vinyl).

I’ve played “A/B” comparisons for a lot of folks (mostly non-audiophiles) and no one has yet chosen a 33 1/3 title over a 45 rpm version. It is NOT subtle.

ABOUT  CLARITY VINYL

Following is the original verbiage Classic Records used to explain what Clarity Vinyl is all about:

45 rpm records have long been recognized as providing a higher fidelity musical experience resulting purely from the cartridge being able to extract more of the nuance from the complex vertical and horizontal groove modulations in stereo LP’s. Further, Classic Records 45 rpm “single sided” pressings dramatically reduce the mechanical resonances created by the cartridge during playback by allowing these resonances to be more fully transmitted to and absorbed by the turntable platter.  Classic Records Clarity Vinyl 45 rpm pressings are designed and manufactured to provide the “LOWEST DISTORTION” in every aspect of LP playback resulting in putting the listener as close to the music as possible.  With only 20 copies of this definitive reissue, don't hesitate before the price on the secondary market skyrockets!

ABOUT SHIPPING AND HANDLING: Please note there is a $5 fee included in Ebay's estimate of Media Mail shipping costs. I believe the best way to way to ship an LP includes a 13"x14"x3" "pizza" style box, 12"x12" cardboard flats, outer shopping bag, and bubble wrap. The shipping boxes alone cost me over $3 each, and the average total cost of shipping materials is around $4.72, so this is NOT a money-maker for me. However, it does ensure, consistently, that these high value LPs arrive safely. Please check my feedback and I think you'll see that buyers appreciate the care with which these precious artifacts are handled.

COMBINED SHIPPING: I am more than happy to combine shipping. Ebay buyers pay the actual postage costs. If a single LP is purchased, the buyer pays actual postage and $5 for shipping materials. If two LPs are purchased, the buyer pays actual postage and $5 for shipping materials. If three or more LPs are purchased, the buyer pays actual postage and $0 for shipping materials (I will absorb the cost of materials). As the final amount can only be calculated after auctions have ended, I will issue the appropriate refund on the day the LPs are shipped.

About Me: I'm a long time Ebay buyer intent on selling a significant portion of my LP collection over the next year or two (or three!). I believe in the auction process, so I'm NOT going to list records at absurdly high prices, and I look forward to getting rare, out of print records into the hands of music lovers, record collectors and audiophiles (I consider myself all of the above). All LPS stored in a smoke-free, climate controlled environment.

Please check my feedback and BID WITH CONFIDENCE. Also, please take a look at other items I'm listing (new items will be listed on Sunday and Wednesday nights), and good luck!

PayPal Payments Only. Payment required within 3 days after the end of auction. All records will ship USPS Media Mail.
