ORIG SiCk rArE REJECTED TEST PRESSING MINT yes MINT UN PLAYED, NEVER SEEN A TURNTABLE. Vinyl was never out of it's inner sleeve as we had to unfasten a staple to open the cover to examine the vinyl. 
In it's own way it was actually SEALED !!!

 This particular  pressing was scrapped and the record was re-mastered and new test-pressings were sent out before the actual pressing of the official release was run. This means there are very few of these in existence, maybe a dozen or so ULTRA SICK rare !!

BIG BLACK "Atomizer", vinyl record TEST PRESSING of HMS-043 released on the Homestead  label, (not the reissue on Touch n Go) for fans of obscure alternative music. the matrix number is HMS-043, manufactured by Hub-Servall Record Mfg Co. 10 Songs included are "Jordan Minnesota", "Big Money", and of course  "Kerosene". Includes the track "Strange Things" which was never released on CD. Record is in excellent condition! Comes from my collection of records left from over from running a record shop, Toxic Shock in the '80's. I got this from Dutch East India Distribution as a promo for upcoming releases on their in-house Homestead Label. 

Comes in a plain white jacket with a "one-sheet" .see pics !!!!

Atomizer is a 1986 album by the American noise rock group Big Black. It is their debut album as all previous releases are EPs. The LP was accompanied by liner notes that explain the stories behind many of the songs.It was released on CD, with the Headache EP and "Heartbeat" single, as The Rich Man's Eight Track Tape, which omitted the instrumental "Strange Things", as well as the artwork and liner notes from the original LP. This is in line with Steve Albini's general dislike for the CD format.

This album marks the debut of Steve Albini's incredible guitar sound. On Kerosene it sounds like he's playing shards of broken glass rather than a musical instrument, and when he's beefed up by Sant and Dave, and driven forward by Roland, the song becomes something more akin to a train derailment than a musical experience. Bad Houses, which immediately follows, is one of the darkest and moodiest songs around--I rank it with Pere Ubu's Final Solution, just to give you something to compare it with. The live version of Cables is a shimmering, simmering, nasty piece of rural living recorded at 7th St. Entry in Minneapolis--it's also obviously one of Steve's favorite versions, since it also appears on the Big Money 12" and Sound of Impact LP.

Originally to be released in mid to late 1985, this didn't see the light of day until early 1986--possibly due to problems licensing artwork (the cover was originally going to be Marvin the Martian pointing a deathray at Earth). it was definitely worth the wait, this is the toughest, nastiest, noisiest Big Black stuff, bar none. Forget Songs About F#cking, this is the sound of Big Black at their peak.

The whole album moves forward in a lurching, explosive fashion that few bands can duplicate. It's easily one of the ten finest albums Iwe own.
