Pink Anderson rec. May 29, 1950 in Charlottesville, VA by Paul Clayton; Pink Anderson, voc, g; # Jumbo Lewis, washboard
Rev. Gary Davis rec. Jan. 20, 1956 by Kenneth F. Goldstein
The record is hard to grade. It looks VG+, maybe even VG++. Some light scuffs and a few tiny light scratches. Vinyl looks glossy and doesn't show wear. Some spindle marks on the P. Anderson side. I spot played the record and it plays with surface noise and, considering the quietness, of the music, I play grade it somewhere between VG and VG+. Riverside was never known for quality pressings, especially this early. The cover is VG. Overall moderate to heavy wear and fading front and back. Heavy wear on the seams. Split seam app 2 inches on bottom at the pocket. Sticker residue on the front, top right and app 1/4 inch pencil mark.
Records are graded visually. I play grade any potential problem areas. I attempt to grade conservatively, listing all significant flaws. My highest grade is M- and I rarely grade 50s or early 60s records M-. You will be satisfied. No hassles.
