Description

Up for auction we have a rare copy of the first album by Rev. Joe Freeman of Wise County, VA entitled “Trusting in You Lord.” This hard-to-find album features Joe Freeman, who was well known for his bluesy, Rockabilly style gospel music and was a well known preacher and songwriter in the Appalachian mountains of Virginia and beyond. Songs from this album can be found on YouTube, to get an idea of the type of style of gospel music found on this album. Freeman was assisted by Hubert and Jeanette Cooke of the Singing Cookes on his debut album. This album has been opened and played, but still has the shrink wrap on the cover. I would grade the cover as excellent to near mint, with only slight wear around the edges and corner of the opening (see photos). I would grade the vinyl itself as excellent +, with only a few very light scratches and some marks on the label from being put onto a player (see photos). This album plays very well, with very little noise and has the sound quality you would expect from an album that appears to have been well taken care of and played very little. This rare album would make an excellent addition to any collection. Good luck and thanks for bidding!
