Description
You don’t need to me to tell you who Paul McCartney is or what the Beatles were; if you did you wouldn’t be browsing this category so on with the description.
In 1964 Revell, the US plastic construction kit manufacturers, made a deal with NEMS Enterprises (in other words the Beatles’ manager, Brian Epstein) to design and market a quartet of kits to about 1/8 scale, one of each Beatle.
This is the one representing Macca; it comes in its original box, which is in quite good condition. All the kit parts are present and some are still on the sprues. Instruction sheet is also there; this includes a facsimile autograph (presumably to copy onto the base after completion) and some interesting facts about Paul. Did you know he had an Art degree from Liverpool Institute? I didn’t! The list of ‘Paulistics’ gives his height as 5 feet 11 inches (1.80 metres); measuring the kit confirms the scale of 1/8.
Also in the box are the little tube of polystyrene cement which came in many kits of the day, and a little sheet of paper advertising Revell paints, in German.
Although described as ‘used,’ this kit has never been started (tempted though I may have been at times!)
