The music of the Rev. Anderson Johnson was very similar to that of other rockin' Gospel visionaries (Rev. Utah Smith, Rev. Lonnie Farris, etc.), and he had to be one of the earliest Gospel artists to play the amplified steel guitar.  Yet his playing is distinct from the later "sacred steel" sound.  He plays the steel as if he were a hopped-up, blues guitar prodigy at an early, dirty R&B juke joint!  With the combination of his quick, brilliant and intuitive slide playing and his beyond-soulful, high-pitched, youthful vocals, you can literally feel the power of the Lord running through the mans veins when you listen to this record, leaving you with a very chillin' and humblin' feeling.  This record is fully-guaranteed to bring chills down your spine!  Rev.
