Pink Anderson / Rev. Gary Davis - American Street Songs - LP - Riverside RLP 12-611 Folklore Series. 1956. Conservatively graded cover & LP VG. Cover has no seem splits. Bottom seem abd corner shows most wear. See pictures. Check out discogs for more information / confirmation that white labels, this copy, is 1st pressing.This record is 65+ years old. I think it’s in pretty stunning condition give its’ age. I’ve seen other copies, online, over the years and none have been white label 1st press or in as good condition based on the pictures presented IMHO. Most of the copies that are / were in similar condition I believe are over graded / over stated. If you are looking for a perfect sounding record ..recordings from 1950 & 1956 are already going to disappoint even if the LP exhibited no distortion during playback. This record is a historical documentation of East Coast Country Blues by 2 blues legends.Pink Anderson’s - Carolina Street Ballads was recorded in Charlottesville, VA May 1950 Rev. Gary Davis - Harlem Street Spirituals was recorded in New York City January 1956Record is glossy but exhibits storage wear from original paper sleeve. Edge wear on lead in & first track each side. Wispy marks hear & there. Labels have a few marks. Side 2 label has some wear, but all in all still in fairly pristine condition given the age. I’ve owned this record for probably 20 years conservatively. Has been stored in Mofi lp sleeve & 5mil ultra thick / clear outer sleeve for past 15 years or so. Can’t remember the last time in has been examined / let alone played prior to today. Offered at low starting bid, no reserve & free priority Mail shipping with insurance.I’m paring down my collection accumulated over the past 30 years.
