Sun Of My Soul 10. How Great Thou ArJ The Reverend Robert Nelson Ditterline is an ordained minister of the Methodist Chinch. He is a Fourth-Generation minister in the Methodist Church. Robert, or Bob as he is better known, was born at Scranton, Arkansas. He attended grade school at La Mesa, Hatch, and Ft. Sumner, New Mexico; graduated from Wink High School, Wink, Texas. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in the field of religious education with a minor in voice from McMurry college (Methodist), Abilene, Texas. While attending McMurry, he was a member of the Chanters, and was a featured soloist. Robert was in great demand to sing at church services, revival meetings, civic clubs, etc. He received his Master of Theology degree from the Iliff School of The- ology, Denver, Colo. While attending Iliff, Robert served the following pas- torates: Hay Springs and Mullen, Nebraska, and Laird, Colorado. He was admitted on trial in the New Mexico Annual Conference of the Methodist Church in 1953, was ordained a Deacon in 1954, and was or- dained an Elder and received into full connection of the New Mexico Con- ference in 1956. Robert has served the following pastorates in the New Mexico Conference: Associate Pastor, Fust Methodist chinch in Pecos, Texas; blouse and Carrizozo, New Mexico. Since coming to the Nebraska Annual Conference in 1958, he has served the following churches: Hay Springs, Palmer-Archer charge, and has been at his present pastorate, Canebridge, since June 1963. Robert has served as Song Leader and Soloist and/or Evangelist in re- vivals, spiritual fife missions, preaching missions, youth meetings in Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Nebraska and Washington. He has also appeared over radio and on television. Robert’s name appears in the “Who’s who in the Methodist Church.” Robert has always felt that God had given him an Extra talent which was to be used for the Kingdom of God, and thus he enjoys using his voice for God at church services, community meetings, hospital calls, and spiritual fife programs of the church. It has always been a dream of Robert’s to be able to record an album of Sacred Hymns. As he travels across this great country of ours, he has been constantly asked: “Have you ever thought of making an album of Sacred Hymns?” Yes, he has! Robert wishes to dedicate this album “Face To Face” to his parents, the Reverend Dr. and Mrs. George R. Ditterline, and to his beloved wife Dorothy Bess, who have all been the inspiration to him to make this album! Currently, Robert’s most requested numbers are: “How Great Thou Art”, “Face To Face”, and “I Walked Today Where Jesus Walked”. This album comes to you as the result of many years of gospel singing, hard work and dreaming. We trust that it will bring to you peace, comfort, strength, and inspiration for the day. Here is a man using his God-given talent in the way that accords best with his deepest convictions. Words cannot begin to express my appreciation to Mrs. Leon Ridpath, my organist.
