Richard And The Young Lions 45 rpm record.  Philips 40381.  This New Jersey group tried to combine the new look and sound of the Beatles with the raspy East Coast urban existence of the 1960’s.  According to Wikipedia, this record was #99 on the Billboard Hot 100 list in 1966. This record was one of my last purchases of 45 rpm records and has been played very little.

Side A:  Open Up Your Door.  None-too-subtle sexual innuendo.    NM.

Side B:  Once Upon Your Smile.  NM.

The labels are NM.

The picture sleeve is a bit crisp, yellowed, and wrinkled; but there are no splits, tears, or writing.  VG+.

Other than the aging of the picture sleeve, I can detect no other flaws audibly or visually.  The overall grade is NM!  This 45 is the best-condition 45 I own!  Because of its pristine condition and original picture sleeve, the Buy-It-Now price is $19.66.

GRADING

These records were completely listened to when grading.  Any visually noticeable warpage will be mentioned and could lower the grade even without having a noticeable audio effect.  Records without brand or picture sleeves have plain sleeves.  I use the Goldmine grading system:

VG+  little noise and visible wear

VG   noise in quiet sections and visible wear, but not bothersome

VG-  some pops heard in non-quiet sections, still not bothersome

G/VG  borderline bothersome noise throughout

G+  bothersome noise in some sections

G   many bothersome pops and scratches heard throughout but no repeating pops lasting more than a few seconds

G-  a repeating scratch lasting a bothersome number of rotations

FAIR  loud popping popcorn or loud or lengthy repeating scratches

The buyer must pay $3.50 to ship this record in a corrugated-cardboard-armored envelope using USPS First Class Mail.  Signature Confirmation is recommended if there is a chance that your package might be stolen.  I am not responsible for stolen items, only for delivery to your address.  Message me before paying if interested in purchasing Signature Confirmation for an additional $2.60.  This auction is limited to delivery within the fifty States.

FEEDBACK

I leave feedback as soon as I’ve shipped the items, and my only concern is that the buyer pays within one week of the close of the auction.  For single auction purchases, sending an invoice is an extra step that is unnecessary, so please try to pay within four days of the auction’s closing.  If payment has not been made within four days of the auction’s close, I will send one invoice reminding the buyer that only three days remain in order to receive positive feedback from me.  If payment has not been made within sixteen days, eBay will be automatically informed and your access to all sellers will be jeopardized.
