Description
This is a very nice copy of Classic Records reissue of Fritz Reiner’s recording of Richard Strauss’s Also sprach Zarathustra on four single-sided 200g 45 rpm records. The records have been cleaned with both a VPI record cleaner and treated with LAST record preservative and more recently with an Audio Desk ultra sonic record cleaner. Disk 1 has a light tick for about the first 15 seconds. The remainder of this disk and the other three are relatively quiet with only a few light ticks here and there. There are no scratches on the records. The covers are in new condition. Only the first record is housed in the regular record jacket. The other three disks are in a plain white jacket with a sticker which indicates which movements are on the record. The inner sleeve of record 4 has a tear around the center hole, although since the sleeve is lined, this does not affect keeping the record clean. The sound and the music are fantastic. I purchased this new when it was first issued by Classic Records. The record, like all Classic reissues, is now out of print. Multiple records can be combined in an order to save shipping costs.
