Description
I buy and sell lots of albums for my own collection as my interests change. This one is somewhat different in that it comes from my late dad’s collection and a friend of his tells me it is highly collectable.
As you can see from feedback my area of expertise is not classical music. My observations are from listening to the album and from what I have been able to find out about it.
I have attempted to include enough photos to help you have a strong visual impression of what you might bid on. If you have any other queries do not hesitate to contact me.

My understanding is that these matrices show that it is the original pressing.
Vinyl :
SXL 2074 Die Walkure Part 1
There is some spindle wear. Visually there are some slight marks but the record retains much of its original sheen. When played there are some slight clicks and pops but nothing major at all. The sound is rich and warm.
SXL 2074 Gotterdammerung
As above. A little bit of background hissing at times with the odd click and pop in the quieter passages. The sound is rich and warm.
SXL 2075 Die Walkure Act 1 (2)
General condition as above. Plays really well. The sound is rich and warm.
SXL 2075 Die Walkure Act 1 (3)
General condition as above. There are some clicks. One of the clicks , about 1/3 of the way through, is noticeable. The sound is rich and warm.
I use Record Collector gradings.
Overall I would grade the four sides as ‘Excellent-‘
Vinyl: General comments:
The records are not in mint condition. They are 54 years old and they were part
of my dad’s collection and he clearly played them but did seem to look after
them. Listening to them on my Project Debut turntable the sound is rich and full. I
very much hope that they will provide a great deal of enjoyment to the person
that buys them.
Cover :
The box has signs of wear. It has faded slightly with time, although the actual picture of the sword (the top of the box still retains a beautiful sheen. The bottom right hand corner of the top has started to split. This can be seen in the photo. Underneath the bottom has started to go along the bottom side, although this is not obvious from the inside of the box, where it is still holding together. The hinge between the top and the bottom has not been damaged at all.
Overall I would grade the box as ‘Very Good’.
The inner sleeves:
These are the original Decca inner-sleeves. They have faded a bit as one would expect with their age.
Overall I would grade them as ‘Excellent –‘

My records are graded in accordance with Record Collector's Grading System as follows: MINT(M)The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any other items are in perfect condition. EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable. GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc + or - indicates a grading in between categories
