Rare 45 RPM Record
Rare pre-Motown 45 by the late King of Punk Funk before he busted out of L7. Little is known about this release. It doesn't appear in any Rick James discography. Do an internet search for it, and you will come up with exactly one hit, on a Motown records discussion board. It was recorded in the mid-70's when James was still headquarted in Buffalo, NY, on a small private label, and was probably a very limited pressing. I have never seen another copy for sale on eBay, or anywhere else for that matter.
To the best of my knowledge, these tracks have never been rereleased or anthologized.
This 45 is in VG++ condition (probably closer to Mint Minus) with shiny , lustrous grooves. There are some surface marks noticable under a direct bright light, mostly in the run off grooves. There is what looks like a small pressing defect at the edge of the record, before the music starts. That having been said, this record plays perfectly without issues.
