For sale is this superb collectors piece by Ride.
This is a white label Play E.P. Promo 12” record, but also included in the package are a gig contract and band promo picture.
The vinyl is in great condition. There are a few sleeve removal hairlines here and there but nothing that catches my eye. They can only be seen underneath direct light. I’ve play tested it and the playback is spot on. Both sides play great.
The next item is a band promo picture. It’s printed on card, and has the Creation records number on it, the photographers name (J.Houghton) and it’s printed on card with a gloss finish. It’s in fantastic condition. It’s just a touch smaller than A4.
The next item is a printed (on A4 paper) Ride logo. It’s nothing special, but will have been included with the promo vinyl and picture when issued.
Finally, there’s the gig contract.
This is an official contract with live ink signatures etc. This is NOT a copy, or some make believe thing. This is the real deal.
The contract was written up by The Miracle Agency, between Mark Bradley pp Baked Potato Productions, and Dave Newton pp Ride.
This is a 13 page document full of signatures and initialed pages, which covers everything from the gig date, to the venue, the rider, the stage layout, the money split percentages, the supporting acts fees... it’s got everything.
The gig in question was at the Ashton Hall in Aylesbury, on the 23rd of August 1990, so this was before their 1st album was released.
The contract is in fantastic condition. It’s not ripped, water damaged, nothing.
This is an amazing collectors piece and I’ve not seen anything like it for sale before. The price I’ve put up is because I’ve not a clue how to price it. For all I know it may be low. Feel free to drop me an offer and we’ll see how things go.
