Rimsky-Korsakov Capriccio Espagnol Cluytens Original UK Columbia SAX 2355
The Philharmonia Orchestra conducted by Andre Cluytens performs Rimsky-Korsokov’s “Capriccio Espagnole”, Borodin’s “In the Steppes of Central Asia”, and Mussorgsky’s “Night on Bare Mountain”. An original English stereo pressing on the Columbia Label (SAX 2386), the labels are blue/green with silver border and “radio waves”, a groove, and black Columbia and stereo flash with magic note logo. The record has some minor surface scuffs, and some marks and small scratches on track one of side one click softly for 3 revolutions, and then for another 7 or so –not particularly noticeable. Otherwise the record is of very good appearance and plays and sound superb with only occasional low-level surface noise. The (very) heavy duty cover is excellent - a few black lines on the back is a printing fault – not due to wear.
