Rimsky-Korsakov Le Coq D’or Kurtz Original Aust HMV OASD 532
The Philharmonia Orchestra conducted by Efram Kurtz performs Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Le Coq D’or”, and Kabelevsky’s “The Comedians Suite”. An original Australian stereo pressing on the HMV Label (OASD 532), the labels are cream with plum lettering, gold stereophonic flash and border, and a small fan shaped dog. The label on side one has a “sample record” sticker. The record is of immaculate appearance, and plays and sounds superb with some surface noise - this seems to mostly disappear after the first few playings. The English cover has rubbed a little with a slight ring and other minor wear.
This review record is a part of a collection that originally was either played a few times for review purposes, (or not at all) and stored carefully and unplayed over the following 40 years. View my other auctions for more superb early classical records.
