Ringo Starr APPLE LABEL Beatles 45 photograph unique?
This is a 1973 APPLE LABEL Ringo Starr single of Photograph/down and out.
I can't find a copy of it with the apple design on the net - they all seem to have
a white star on a black background but as you can this one is the typical apple
logo. It is not listed in the list of apple singles in Record collector sept. issue but
has the usual R.5992 number rather than a apple serial number.
It is aslo not listed on popsike and although I have have contacted Record collector they also have not said anything as yet.
It so far as I can asertain does seem to be unique- maybe you know better, if so please mail me
It has been stamped on the reverse with suggesting it was sold in Byrons Shop in Ballina, Co Mayo (in the
west of Ireland)- as you may know many of the record presses in the 60/70s were
based in Ireland. Is it possible that a few singles with the original apple
centre escaped before the Starr design came in??
Condition- Condition is good (see below). However there was no cover - either picture sleeve or otherwise with the record when I bought it. The b-side has been stamped as stated and some of the label has peeled or been removed. The A- side of the label is in much better condition.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
