Eastern tinged Italian Library with some great Psychedelic and Funk grooves by Rino “Awake” De Filippi. Recorded in 1972 at Orthofonic Studio in Rome by historic RCA sound engineer Pino Mastroianni, sees Vincenzo Restuccia at the drums and Bruno Battisti D’Amario on Sitar and other ethnic instruments.

Our soundclip opens with the killer Geisha girl hip hop beats / koto funk groove of ORIENTE CONTEMPLATIVO (with endless, Dusty Fingers style drum patterns :) followed by the psychedelic funky groove of CITTA' ORIENTALE and other important themes including the spaced-out ORIENTE MAGICO and trippy indo jazz fusion of NIGHT IN ORIENTE / the crazy sitar mantras of DANZA ORIENTALE / TRASPARENZA ORIENTALE / the meditative piano and treated spinette of REGIONE DEPRESSA and the Piero Umiliani - Gino Marinacci - Soundworkshop style theme, TEMPIO DEI BONZI. The whole Lp is sublime, very hypnotic with a hallucinogenic undercurrent.
