Description
Vinyl (VG+): Strong clean shine on both sides. Side 1 has a light hairline at 4 o’clock, mostly in the dead wax. Side 2 has a hairline at 6 o’clock, a tiny hairline at 3 o’clock, and an almost invisible hairline at 7 o’clock. Record plays great and clear. Labels are clean with no stickers, no writing, and no spindle scuffs, only a small wrinkle around the spindle hole.
Jacket (G): Bright, vibrant colors with very little age fading. Top seam has about a 5-inch split. Corners look good overall; one has a small dog‑ear. Light surface wear on the bottom area (on the dark part of his suit). No stickers or writing on the cover.
Ritchie Valens’ early Del‑Fi recordings were done fast, cheap, and raw in 1958–1959. On this album:
-
The vocals sometimes dip, drag, or waver
-
The band mix can swell or pull back suddenly
-
Tape speed on some Del‑Fi masters is not perfectly stable
-
The recording has a slightly uneven, homemade feel
-
And all this is present in the song 'my darling is gone'
