Description

  • The "Riverside History of Classic Jazz" is a limited edition 5 LP compilation set on original black vinyl, released in 1956 on the Riverside record label. This first press collection features various jazz artists from the 1950s, with a microgroove long play format at 33 RPM on 12" records. The set includes original inner sleeves and covers in excellent condition, making it a valuable addition to any jazz vinyl collection.
  • Here's the Discogs description: "1956 first issue with white labels in large binder type album, with a bound in 12.5" x 13" booklet. The LP's have slip-in attached pouches. This configuration only available the first year of release of this enduring and influential compilation."
  • The jacket is in excellent condition, with some age wear to the covers and some slight separation at the top and bottom of the spine.
