Description
For sale is Robert Byrne's Blame It On The Night, originally released in 1979 by Mercury Records as a promotional copy with a gold stamp on the back cover. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks are the matrix numbers A-2/B-2, followed by an etched "T1", indicating that an early stamper was used to make this first edition that was pressed at Columbia Records' pressing plant located in Terre Haute, Indiana. These are hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound quality. I bought this record used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and put it into a MFSL archival inner sleeve. This protects the integrity of the vinyl and any original inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have come with the release. There is no original inner sleeve with this listing. The cover is graded as VG+ because of ring wear, corner blunts and edge rubs. The spine has color loss from these rubs and blunts. The vinyl is visually graded as Near Mint. I'm play-grading it as Near Mint. This has been played on Audiophile equipment since I owned it and still has a lot of life left to it. This would make a great addition to anyone's collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative.
