Robert Forster – Calling From A Country Phone is a beautifully crafted solo album originally released in 1993 through Beggars Banquet, marking Forster’s return to Brisbane and the same studio where some of the earliest Go Betweens recordings were made. Blending understated songwriting, reflective lyricism and a distinctive blend of melancholic pop and dry, understated rock, the album remains a compelling entry in Forster’s acclaimed catalogue. This Record Store Day 2026 edition has been remastered at Abbey Road Studios and features brand new artwork incorporating previously unseen photographs, alongside new liner notes written by Robert Forster himself. The release includes a limited edition blue vinyl LP in a gatefold sleeve, accompanied by a 7 inch pressing, celebrating the sought after 2020 reissue. Issued by Needle Mythology under catalogue number NEMYLP005X, this special edition is an excellent collectible for fans of Robert Forster and The Go Betweens.
