Description

This is the original pressing of Robert Johnson “King of the Delta Blues Singers” on the six-eye labels of Columbia CL 1654. The playing surface is in near-new condition with a high luster; perhaps played once. Of the 18 tracks, 9 are previously unreleased. The coated cover is clean and bright throughout; light ring wear at the bottom of the front; 1 ½” chip at the center of the back slick’s bottom edge. Included is a copy of the April 10, 1961 two-page memo between Frank Driggs (producer of the release) and Don Law (producer for Columbia) in which Driggs begins “I need some amplification on the story you gave me just before you left for England last month”, with hand-written comments. Illustrated inner sleeve is also included. WE NOW ACCEPT PAYPAL. However, you can continue to pay directly to us using VISA, MasterCard or Discover credit cards, if you prefer.
