Description

BRAND NEW/SEALED Limited Edition

After “Oldboy” and “It Follows” Milan Records and Nicolas Winding Refn have partnered with MGM to bring back to vinyl the cult soundtrack to Paul Verhoeven’s ROBOCOP. The amazing score with its unforgettable theme is composed by Basil Poledouris (Conan The Barbarian). This release is limited to 3,000 units pressed on 2x 180 gm silver/metal colored LP. The original artwork designed by Jay Shaw is presented on a tip on shiny silver gatefold. Each LP is housed in an OCP labelled black sleeve. The packaging also includes a digital download card.

“The soundtrack is so strong, and it’s so borderline camp,” Refn says. “But at the same time, it’s so symphonically dark and humoristic.” Refn sees “RoboCop,” directed by Paul Verhoeven, as an example of a film that both critiques “fascistic” American values and self-consciously embraces the trappings of a blockbuster. “It’s a wonderful intersection of European filmmaking with very strong Hollywood thematic commercial abilities,” he says. “It’s one of the great films to come out of Hollywood,” he adds, without irony.

This double vinyl is presented on a tip-on silver/metallic gatefold. It includes two 180 gm, silver-colored LP housed in OCP sleeves. The LP includes ad digital download card.
The album has been fully remastered for vinyl.
Original artwork by Jay Shaw
