Description

Didn't these guys turn into another group? Was it the Coasters? You tell me. What I do know i that it's one of the highest demand 50s R&R records out there. And this one is in presentable condition. With an 800 dollar book value I feel it only fair to start bidding higher than my usual start price. It's almost summer. Treat yourself to a historical gem.

Whippet Records - WLP-703 - 1958

The disk had beautiful gloss. There are a few light micro lines but nothing that affects play. There might be some ever so slight tick here and there between tracks. It generally plays EX. I think the buyer will be pleased. I will rate it a solid VG+, though it plays better overall.

The cover has only light shelfwear, no ringwear, writing or tears. The spine is crisp and legible. The bottom seam is also crisp. The top seam has some roughness and a light crack near the opening, bit is still solid. The back has only light soiling that can easily be cleaned. The original Whippet ad sleeve is included but is torn on one side. I will send the record in a good poly lined sleeve.

Insurance is included to US buyers. To buyers outside USA, I highly recomend Registered Mail. I will work with you. But I cannot be resposible for this item once it leaves the hands of USPS, so contact me for a deal.

I ship records properly, 'disk out of cover' in a 2 ml poly sleeve and sent in a cardboard LP mailer. Questions are welcomed. Bid with confidence.

VINYL GRADING

M- = a pristine record

EX+ = a near mint record. May have VERY minor marks that can only be seen in bright light and plays with NO surface noise

EX = a well-kept record. May have micro-sleeve lines, perhaps minor marks that do NOT affect play. NM-

VG+ = a nice record. May have superficial marks but plays with MINIMAL surface sound ONLY in quiet passages.

VG = a used record. Has visible marks, light scratches and minor surface noise, but is still a good listening experience.

VG- = a well-used record. Has marks, minor scratches and obvious surface noise, but still plays through with NO skips and is still enjoyable.

I do not sell items below these ratings.

NOTE: Please do not bid unless you intend to buy. If you have 0 to 5 bid history, please contact me before bidding. Sorry, but I have had some problems with members who don't take this venue seriously.

To sum up answers to several questions on this item. I am adding this info. Yes, as an exclusive vinyl record seller I deam this record to be 'collector quality'. My VG+ rating is conservative. It plays with almost no surface noise at all. It has sparce marks and no scratches. I feel that even the staunchest collector will be happy with this package. It is not NM, but is pretty darn sweet for this rare title. I do not sell crap and I confident that the buyer will be quite pleased. As a vinyl record seller, I feel this item is worthy of VG++ or EX value. This is a gem, 100% guarenteed to be as described.
