GRADINGS (Based on the Goldmine Grading System):

NEAR MINT (NM or M-)-- Goldmine says: "A good description of a NM record is 'it looks like it just came from a retail store and it was opened for the first time.' Near mint records are shiny and free of visible defects. No writing, stickers, other markings or spindle marks appear on the label. No major factory defects are present. If played, an NM record will do so without surface noise. Near Mint records don’t have to be 'never played'; a record used on an excellent turntable can remain NM after many plays if the disc is properly cared for."

VERY GOOD PLUS (VG+) -- A record that shows some signs that it was played but kept in great condition. Has a clean label. May have slight signs of wear or a light scratch that will not affect play. Plays close to perfect for DJ's and most homes.

VERY GOOD (VG)-- A disc similar to VG+ where the defects are more pronounced. Has some wear on label. Might have more light marks and one or two heavier marks. Surface noise will be evident, but will not overpower the music. OK for DJ's and most homes.

GOOD+ (G+) -- A record that will play through without skipping, but has significant surface noise, scratches, and visible groove wear. Still Ok for DJ's.
