Impossible to locate UK first press
Black and white vertigo swirl label format .The very first issue with the vertigo swirl logo immediately above central hole only found on these very first issues . Very, very hard to locate as most have vertigo above central hole of labels which are later pressings.
Original swirl inner sleeve , excellent save for discoloration caused through age.
Gatefold Howards Printers printed with some edge wear . Earliest TEXTURED finished album sleeve in very good condition. Marked down only because of dyno tape name on inner face otherwise nothing much to fault. Spine solid and square and hardly any wear visible, save for 0.5mm rub. Remarkable sleeve and in lovely condition . Inner faces are excellent save for name of previous owner not hand written but with dyno tape.
Audio
Difficult one to assess and to be safe, am grading good/very good .There are some audible scratches resulting in some repeat ticks and some surface between tracks , opening/closing grooves and occasional during playback. Saying this however, this is an exceptional vinyl and being a first pressing of this release, replicates one of the best projection of loud cut engineering I have heard. Tones rise above any surface disturbance to deliver an extremely enjoyable listen to, possibly, the best Rod Stewart album ever released. The audio perception outclasses later pressings considerably and is in a class of its own. Tones are beautifully delivered with a sharp definition despite surface disturbance .
Vinyl
Visual very good with light scratches/few surface . Has a beautiful deep glossy sheen. Heavy weight press unlike later issues which are thinner and lighter to hold .
An elusive, first pressed, rock classic on the phenomenal black and white vertigo swirl record label.
